On Windows 11 22H2, you can now uninstall quality and feature updates through a new interface available through the Settings app.
Although the Settings app always included settings to control updates, you needed to use Control Panel to remove it if you stumbled upon a buggy update. However, starting with version 22H2, Windows 11 adds a new page to remove updates through the Settings app.
In this guide, you will learn the easy steps to remove updates causing problems using the Windows Update settings on the Windows 11 2022 Update.
Uninstall updates directly from Windows Update
To uninstall updates with problems with the Settings app, use these steps:
-
Open Settings on Windows 11.
-
Click on Windows Update.
-
Click the Update history tab.
-
Under the “Related settings” section, click the Uninstall updates setting.
-
Click the Uninstall option to remove the update from Windows 11.
Once you complete the steps, the update will be removed from the computer without using Control Panel.
Although you have always been able to uninstall updates, starting on the Windows 11 2022 Update, you can now perform this task within the Settings app.
If you prefer to remove updates with commands, you can always use Command Prompt and PowerShell to complete this task.
