  • Microsoft Edge version 92 is now available in the Stable Channel.
  • The update brings a new notification to inform users whether the password is strong.
  • Also, it will bring your credentials to your phone to make it easier to sign in to apps.

Microsoft is now rolling out Edge version 92 to all users, and in this release, the default browser based on the Chromium engine from Google brings several new features and improvements.

According to the company, Microsoft Edge 92 is updating the password manager experience to notify you whether the password you are trying to use is strong enough, and it will let you know if you used it on other sites. This is an additional feature to the existing password generator feature and the password monitor feature that alerts if any of your passwords have been leaked online.

Furthermore, Microsoft Edge will now save your credentials and make them available automatically for other apps on your mobile phone when using the browser. For example, if you signed up for Instagram on the desktop and Edge is installed on your phone, you will be able to log into the Instagram app without retyping the password manually. (The new feature offers the same functionality as the Microsoft Authenticator app.)

Alongside the new features, Microsoft Edge 92 also brings several other features, including natural language search for browser history on the address bar. Users will be able to get to Internet Explorer mode on Microsoft Edge more easily. The MHTML files will default to opening in Internet Explorer mode. Payment information will now sync across devices. You will be able to dismiss the “Disable developer mode extensions” warning permanently. You can also manage hide or show extensions in the toolbar more easily. The browser will now give you the option to load HTTPS website when trying to reach the site via HTTP if the site supports the more secure protocol, and the browser includes improvements to render fonts.

Microsoft Edge version 92 is now rolling out to everyone. It will download and install automatically, but you can always force the update from the “Help” settings page (edge://settings/help).
