How to change desktop background on Windows 10X

You can set any image you want as your desktop background on Windows 10X, and here's how to complete the task.

Although on Windows 10X, you cannot right-click an image to select the “Set as desktop background” option and themes are not supported, you can still change the desktop background image to anything you want. You only need to download the image you want to use from the web or have pictures already available in your OneDrive account.

How to change background image on Windows 10X

To change the desktop background image, use these steps:

  1. Open Settings on Windows 10X.

  2. Click on Personalization.

    Quick tip: You can also right-click the desktop and select the “Change your background” option to access the settings page. Or you can access the Settings app from the action center and clicking the Settings button.
  3. Click on Background.

  4. Click the Browse button.

Once you complete the steps, the image will be applied as new desktop background on Windows 10.

When changing the desktop background, the system may create a new “BackgroundImage.jpg” file in the original file’s source location.
