The task management system, Microsoft Lists, is now available for anyone with a Microsoft account. Microsoft Lists is similar to the Microsoft To Do, but it’s a more advanced tool like AirTable or Click-Up.
Microsoft first made the tool available in 2020, and since then, it has been limited to enterprise and business users. However, the company is now letting anyone access the free version of Microsoft Lists on the web or through the mobile app on Android and iOS.
The task management tool allows you to create, manage, and share lists with other people. Also, it includes templates to make it easier and faster to create lists with tasks for tracking issues, events planning, travel requests, work progress trackers, content schedulers, gift ideas, expense trackers, and more.
It’s also possible to create a blank list that allows you to organize the tasks with different fields specific to your needs. You can then create other lists based on existing lists.
The experience of using Microsoft Lists is similar to using Access or Excel using a grid view for the list, but you can always switch views, and you can export lists into CVS files that can be opened with Excel or imported into another app or task management service.
Microsoft Lists is still in beta and part of the suite of services available through a Microsoft 365 subscription. However, anyone with a Microsoft account can access the experience with limited functionality.
