The MediaCreationTool.bat allows you to easily bypass the TPM, Secure Boot, CPU, and other requirements to upgrade or clean install Windows 11 on an unsupported computer.
The tool has been available for a while as an alternative to the official Media Creation Tool to download the ISO file from the Microsoft servers for virtually any version of Windows 10 and Windows 11. However, it has been updated to include a script that applies specific Registry changes that allows you to run the official Windows 11 ISO or Media Creation Tool to proceed with the installation process skipping all the requirements checks. You can even proceed with the setup on a device using the legacy BIOS (basic input/output system) firmware instead of UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface).
This guide will teach you to bypass the minimum system requirements to install Windows 11.
Bypass TPM, Secure Boot, CPU, and other Windows 11 requirements
To bypass the minimum system requirements to install Windows 11, use these steps:
-
Open MediaCreationTool.bat GitHub page.
-
Click the Download button from the top-right corner.
-
Save the Zip file on your computer.
-
Navigate to the folder with the files.
-
Click the Extract all button.
-
Click the Browse button.
-
Select the extraction location.
-
Click the Select folder button.
-
Click the Extract button.
-
Open the available folder (if applicable).
-
Right-click the Skip_TPM_Check_on_Dynamic_Update.cmd file and select the Run as administrator option.
Once you complete the steps, you can run the official Media Creation Tool or mount an ISO file to begin the installation of Windows 11 on unsupported hardware. If the script seems not to be working, restart the computer and run it a few more times.
The script will modify the Registry to ignore the requirements for things like TPM 2.0, Secure Boot, processor type, and minimum hard drive space. However, the Windows 11 setup will still know that your computer doesn’t meet the minimum requirements and will prompt you to acknowledge that running Windows 11 on unsupported hardware is not recommended, and you accept all the risks.
If you have a computer, for instance, with any dual-core processor, TPM 1.2, and Secure Boot, you don’t need to run the script, as the Media Creation Tool will allow you to continue with the setup. However, you will need to accept the terms to acknowledge that it’s not supported to run Windows 11 on devices that do not meet the minimum requirements.
