On Windows 10, battery saver is a feature that helps to extend battery life of your laptop or tablet by limiting background activities (including fancy visual effects, such as transparency) and push notifications when the device is running low on battery.

Battery saver usually works automatically, but if you have specific requirements, it’s possible to enable and disable the feature manually, and you can even control how the feature should work.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through the steps to use and configure battery saver on Windows 10.

How to enable battery saver on Windows 10

The battery saver feature is only available for laptops and tablets, and when your device is unplugged. The feature should enable automatically, but if you want to extend the battery life as much as possible, you can enable the feature manually using these steps:

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Click on System.

  3. Click on Battery.

  4. Turn on the Battery saver status until the next charge toggle switch.
