  • Windows 11 build 23560 is now rolling out in the Dev Channel.
  • This update adds the ability to access Copilot from ALT + TAB.
  • In addition, this flight addresses various issues but introduces new ones.

Windows 11 build 23560 is now available for computers in the Dev Channel of the Windows Insider Program. In this release, Microsoft is making available fixes and improvements for existing features.

Build 23560 for Windows 11, according to the official changes, it’s now possible to use Copilot with the “Alt + Tab” keyboard shortcut. This means that the “Alt + Tab” experience will display a thumbnail preview for Copilot alongside the other thumbnails, which you can switch between by pressing the “Tab” key.

In addition to the enhancement to access Copilot, the Windows 11 build 23560 addresses issues regarding File Explorer, Taskbar, Windows Narrator, and Task Manager.

Windows 11 build 23560 new fixes

These are the fixes and improvements for the latest build of Windows 11 in the Dev Channel.

  • File Explorer: Fixed an issue which could make the File Explorer dropdowns and context menu unexpectedly have a transparent background sometimes, and it fixed an issue where the search box wasn’t showing the correct folder name when you were in Gallery.
  • Taskbar: Fixed an explorer.exe crash impacting taskbar reliability.
  • Windows Narrator: Fixed an issue where languages other than U.S. English couldn’t preview Narrator natural voices in Settings, and it fixes an issue where Narrator wasn’t reading out the time stamps on recommended items in Start correctly.
  • Task Manager: Improves performance when expanding the navigation pane in Task Manager.

As part of the known issues on build 23560, non-system applications may appear with the “System” label in the “All apps” menu of the Start menu.

In addition, Microsoft is noting a few problems with Copilot. For example, the AI assistant may no longer be available for some users running Windows 11 Home, and the new Copilot icon is currently not showing for computers enrolled in the Dev Channel. Finally, when first launching or after refreshing Copilot in Windows while using voice access, you’ll need to use “Show grid” commands to click in the “Ask me anything” box for the first time.

It’s important to note that Microsoft is still in the process of gradually rolling out Copilot, and it’s currently only available as a preview in North America, the United Kingdom, and parts of Asia and South America. However, in the future, the AI chatbot will expand to more markets. In the meantime, you can try these instructions and solutions to enable Copilot on your device.
