The wait is over, you can now order your Surface Book 2 at Microsoft Store, Amazon, Best Buy, and other retailers. Alongside the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update release, on October 17, Microsoft also unveiled the Surface Book 2, the same convertible that you know and love, but with updated hardware and two sizes, including a 13.5-inch and 15-inch model.
The second generation of Surface Book looks similar to the original design, but there are a lot of improvements. For starters, the new device features Intel’s eighth-generation quad-core Core i7 processor, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 graphics, and finally, we’re seeing a USB Type-C port that replaces the Mini DisplayPort (mDP).
The 13-inch Surface Book 2 starts at $1499 with no discrete graphics, and it uses Intel’s seventh-generation Core i5 processor. If you’re looking for a true upgrade, then the price starts at $1999 with Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 graphics, Intel’s eighth-generation processor, and 8GB of memory.
The 15-inch Surface Book 2 starts at $2499 with Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 graphics, 16GB of memory, Intel’s eighth-generation processor, and 256GB of storage. You can also get this device with up to 1TB of storage for $3299. (You can check the full tech specs and other details in this Surface Book 2 guide.)
The Microsoft Surface Book 2 13.5-inch models is available now at the Microsoft Stores and online, and select retailers in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, China, Japan, United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Austria. The Surface Book 2 15-inch model is now ready for purchase across the Microsoft Stores and online, and select retailers in the United States.
