Windows 10 users can now download the Spotify app from the Windows Store. Although anyone can get the app on Windows 10, Spotify available in the Store is a big deal as devices installed with Windows 10 S, such as the Surface Laptop, can’t run traditional desktop apps.

The new version of Spotify is exactly the same as desktop (win32) version you know and love. The only difference is that the new app has been converted to a Universal Windows Platform (UWP) app using Microsoft’s project Centennial to be available in the Windows Store.

If you already have the desktop version of Spotify installed on your computer, it’ll be removed and replaced with the one from the Store. However, your settings will migrate over, and you won’t even need to sign-in again.

You can download the Spotify app now from the Windows Store on any device running any variant of Windows 10, including Windows 10 S in all the supported region Spotify is already available. The only requirement is that you need to be running version 1607 (Anniversary Update), version 1703 (Creators Update), or later to get it.
