Windows 10 Anniversary Update receives cumulative update KB3176929 a day before Microsoft pushes the final version of the update to the masses. The new cumulative update is available through the Fast ring for PCs enrolled in the Windows Insider Program, and it bumps the operating system version to 14393.10.

Microsoft’s Dona Sarkar notes on Twitter that the cumulative update KB3176929 is only available for PC (not for Windows 10 Mobile). 

Here’s what’s new with KB3176929

  • Improved reliability of background tasks and extensions for Microsoft Edge.
  • Addressed licensing issue that prevents apps from activating.
  • Fixed problem that prevents changing display orientation after attaching a keyboard dock.
  • Scheduled update scans that are delayed during Connected Standby issue has been resolved.
  • Fixed problem where sometimes prevent Extensible Application Markup Language (XAML) apps from receiving keyboard input.
  • Event logging that creates very large virtual allocations problem has been fixed.
  • High battery drain when a Windows 10 Mobile device is idle or the screen is off issue has been addressed.
  • Fixed additional issues with Cortana, Microsoft Query and Microsoft Excel compatibility, and the Korean Input Method Editor (IME).

Windows 10 build 14393.10 (KB3176929) for PC is available immediately. The new update will download and install automatically, but you can always force the update from Settings > Update & security > Windows Update and clicking the Check for updates button.
