On WhatsApp, you can now send pictures and videos in HD with full resolution, and in this guide, you will learn how using your Android phone.

Although you have been able to share images and videos on WhatsApp for a long time, you could never send these file formats at their full quality because the service would reduce its quality to make the file smaller for transmission over the internet. However, Meta made available a new feature in the latest version of the WhatsApp app that allows you to send full-quality videos and images.

This guide will teach you the steps to send photos and videos with HD quality through the WhatsApp mobile app on Android. The instructions should also work on iPhone.

  6. (Optional) Compose the message to send with the picture.

  7. Click the Send button.

Once you complete the steps, the picture or video will be sent to the recipient or group in full quality. Since HD images and videos can be large in size, it can take some time to send. As a result, it’s best to send HD items when your mobile device is using a local Wi-Fi connection.
