How to add desktop Stickers on Windows 11

Windows 11 22H2 makes the desktop a little more fun with Stickers, and in this guide, you will learn the steps to use the feature.

The feature allows you to add stickers of different fun and joyful figures to the desktop as if they were part of the background image. It’s primarily designed for the education market to let students decorate their backgrounds with digital stickers for self-expression, but anyone can use the feature. Also, stickers are preserved as you change wallpapers, and you can arrange, resize, and customize them any way you want.

The feature is available on version 22H2 and higher releases, so you will have to upgrade to the latest version of Windows 11 to use the feature from the Personalization settings.

Add Stickers on Windows 11

To add Stickers to the desktop on Windows 11, use these steps:

1. Open Settings on Windows 11.

2. Click on Personalization.

3. Click the Background tab.

4. Under the “Personalize your background” setting, select the Picture or Windows Spotlight option.

   Quick note: Stickers are unavailable for the other options.

5. Click the Add stickers button.

   

6. Select the sticker to add it to the desktop.

   

7. (Optional) Choose other stickers you want to have on the desktop.

Once you complete the steps, you can drag the stickers to the position you want. You can use the corners to change the size of the items or click the Trash button to remove the stickers.

After placing the stickers on the desktop, you can click the close button at the top of the screen to apply the settings. Alternatively, you can also right-click the desktop to access the stickers option.

If you want to disable Stickers, right the desktop and select the “Add or edit stickers” option, and then manually delete stickers and click the close button at the top of the screen.

Enable Stickers on Windows 11

In the case that the option isn’t available, you can enable the feature through the Registry with the instructions below.

To enable Stickers on Windows 11, use these steps:

1. Open Start.

2. Search for regedit and click the top result to open the Registry.

3. Navigate to the following path:

   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\PolicyManager\current\device

4. Right-click the device key, select the New menu, and select the Key option.

5. Name the key Stickers and press Enter.

6. Right-click the Stickers key, select the New menu and select the DWORD (32-bit) value option.

   

7. Name the key EnableStickers and press Enter.

8. Double-click the recently created DWORD and set its value from 0 to 1.

   

9. Click the OK button.

10. Restart the computer.

Once you complete the steps, the option to add Stickers will enable and be available in the desktop context menu on Windows 11 22H2.
