  • Xbox Cloud Gaming (xCloud) is coming to Xbox Series X, S, and Xbox One.
  • The integration will offer instant access to play games without waiting for download.
  • Microsoft is expected to make xCloud available this holiday season.
  • It’ll require an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.

Microsoft says that it’s working to integrate its Xbox Cloud Gaming (xCloud) streaming platform to Xbox Series X, S, and Xbox One consoles before the end of 2021. According to the company, the new feature will allow Xbox Game Pass subscribers to stream games without waiting to download the full version of the Xbox title.

The service will offer over 100 games, and it is being touted as an option to get into games quickly as soon as they receive an invite from friends, stream the game while waiting for the full version to download fully on the console, or try games before purchasing.

The company is still working on the integration, and eventually, there will be a dashboard update that will include an option to access the cloud streaming service. The service will offer support for 1080p resolution at 60fps, which means that this won’t be something to replace the 4K experience you get with the full download.

Since the new integration will also be available on Xbox One, you can expect Xbox Series X exclusive titles to be available in the older version of the console, such as Microsoft Flight Simulator.

The news comes weeks after the company announced the xCloud integration to the Xbox app for Windows 10. As usual, Microsoft plans to release a preview of the experience to Insiders this fall with full availability before the end of the year.
