How to add themes to personalize Microsoft Edge

You can personalize Microsoft Edge with colorful themes from the Edge-Add-ons page or Chrome Web Store – here's how.

On Microsoft Edge, themes allow you to personalize the browser’s look and feel and the new tab page with custom colors and background images. Also, if you use multiple profiles, themes can help you to separate the different profiles visually.

If you want to personalize the browser, Microsoft Edge supports themes from two sources. You can install them from the Chrome Web Store, including themes with different colors and many with different background images. And you can now get themes from the Edge-Add-ons page, which features Halo, Forza Horizon, Microsoft Flight Simulator, and many other themes.

How to install themes from Chrome Web Store on Microsoft Edge

To download and install a Chrome theme on Edge, make sure support for Chrome extensions is enabled, and then use these steps:

  1. Open Microsoft Edge.

  2. Open the Chrome Web Store theme page.

  3. Select the theme you want to use.

  4. Click the Add to Chrome button.

Once you complete the steps, the theme will apply the new visual changes.

How to install themes from Edge-Add-ons on Microsoft Edge

To add one of the featured themes from Microsoft, use these steps:

  1. Open Microsoft Edge.

  2. Open the Edge-Add-ons themes page.

  3. Click the Get button for the theme you want to install—for example, Halo, Microsoft Fight Simulator, Winter Horizon, and Gold Hoarder.

After you complete the steps, the theme will apply to the browser. You can also click the Undo button from the banner or the Remove button from the Themes page to rollback to the default theme.
