Microsoft has released firmware updates for its Surface Pro 6, Surface Pro (5th Gen), and Surface Book 2 laptop, and the updates bring reliability improvements for battery charging and Surface Dock 2.
These updates are dated July 9, and they’re available for devices running Windows 10 version 1809 or higher.
Surface Pro 6 firmware update
The following improvements are available for Surface Pro 6:
- Surface Dock Firmware Update 2.49.139.0: Improves Surface Dock 2 reliability during Wake On LAN scenarios and improves the overall stability.
- Surface – Extension – 5.5.0.0: Improves Surface Dock 2 reliability during Wake On LAN scenarios and improves the overall stability.
- Surface Integration Service Device – System 6.83.139.0: Improve Surface Dock 2 reliability during authentication scenarios.
Surface Pro firmware update
The following improvements are available for Surface Pro (5th Gen):
- Surface Dock Firmware Update 2.49.139.0: Improves Surface Dock 2 reliability during Wake On LAN scenarios and improves the overall stability.
- Surface – Extension – 5.5.0.0: Improves Surface Dock 2 reliability during Wake On LAN scenarios and improves the overall stability
- Surface Integration Service Device – System 6.83.139.0: Improves Surface Dock 2 reliability during authentication scenarios.
Surface Book 2 firmware update
The following improvements are available for Surface Book 2:
- Surface Dock Firmware Update 1.83.139.0: Improves Surface Dock 2 reliability during Wake On LAN scenarios and improves the overall stability.
- Surface Firmware Update 2.49.139.0: Improves Surface Dock 2 reliability during Wake On LAN scenarios and improves the overall stability.
- Surface – Extension – 5.5.0.0: Improves Surface Dock 2 reliability during Wake On LAN scenarios and improves the overall stability.
- Surface Integration Service Device – System 6.83.139.0: Improves Surface Dock 2 reliability during authentication scenarios.
- Surface System Aggregator – Firmware 182.2150.137.0: Improves Battery Smart Charging reliability.
The update should download and install automatically, but if you have not received it, then you get it from Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and try to force the download manually.
