How to register for Xbox Project xCloud preview

Registrations for Microsoft's Project xCloud preview are now open, and here are the steps to get an invite to test the new game streaming service.

Project xCloud is the new game streaming service from Microsoft that will launch sometime in October 2019. However, before the service is officially available, the company is doing a preview of the service in the United States, United Kingdom, and South Korea.

If you want to participate, you’ll first need to meet the eligibility requirements, which include the need of a 5GHz Wi-Fi connection (or mobile connection of at least 10Mbps), Xbox controller with Bluetooth, Android phone running version 6.0 or higher of the mobile OS, . Also, you’ll need to install and set up the Xbox Game Streaming app, which will be available for download when Project xCloud preview starts.  

The Project xCloud preview is invitation-only, as such, once you know that you’re eligible, you have to sign-up for a chance to receive an invitation of the gaming service.

In this guide, you’ll learn the steps to register for a chance to obtain an invite to participate of the Project xCloud preview to stream games to your Xbox One console.

How to sign-up for Project xCloud preview

Use these steps to register to be among the first people to preview Project xCloud:

  1. Open Project xCloud registration page. (Use this link if you’re located in Korea.)

  2. Click the Sign in button.

  3. Sign-in with your Microsoft account.

  4. Fill out the form with your personal information, including email address, country, postal code, mobile device make, model, and carrier.

  5. Check the If I am selected to participate I agree to the terms & conditions option.

  6. Click the Submit button.

Once you complete the steps, you’ll have to wait to receive an invite, and if you’re selected (which isn’t guaranteed), you’ll receive additional instructions to set up your console to start streaming games from Project xCloud before anyone else.

If you’re among the first to preview the new game streaming service, you’ll be able to play Gears 5, Sea of Thieves, and Killer Instinct.

The registrations are open now, but you must act fast, because there’s a limited number of spots.
