On June 9, Microsoft released yet another Patch Tuesday, which brings a total of eight security patches for various products, including Windows, Internet Explorer, and Office. Two of the new updates for June 2015, are labeled as Critical and the remaining six updates are labeled as Important.

The KB3058515 is a cumulative security update for Internet Explorer addressing over 20 reported vulnerabilities.

KB3033890 resolves a vulnerability in Windows Media Player that could allow remote code execution. These issues only affect Windows 7 systems and earlier, and Windows Server 2008 R2 and earlier versions.

KB3059317, KB3057839, KB3062577, and KB3063858 are important updates that only affects Windows systems that could allow remote code execution or elevation of privilege from attacker.

Update KB3064949 address vulnerabilities in Microsoft Office that could allow remote code execution if a user opens specially crafted Office file.

Finally, KB3062157 is an important update created to patch vulnerabilities on Microsoft Exchange Server that could allow elevation of privilege if an authenticated user clicks a link to a specially crafted web page.

Thus far it appears that Microsoft won’t be releasing any new firmware updates for its line of Surface tablets for June 2015, including Surface Pro 3 or Surface 3.

As always, if you have enabled automatic update, these fixes will install automatically. However, you can always go to Windows Update from the Control Panel and install all the June patches manually. To check for new updates in Windows 10, launch the Settings app and navigate to Update & security / Windows Update.
