  • To clear Firefox cache or cookies, open Settings > Privacy & Security, click on “Clear History,” choose “Everything,” and check the “Cookies” and “Cache” options.

On Firefox, whether you use the browser on Windows 11, 10, or another operating system, the browser caches images and web files and saves cookies (small text files stored on your device with preferences and other data for a specific site) from every website you visit, which helps to improve page loading speeds when you return to the site.

However, cache data and cookies do not always work perfectly, and sometimes this data may prevent websites from loading correctly on Firefox, in which case, clearing the cache and cookies may fix the problem.

In this guide, you’ll learn the steps to clear the cache and cookies on Firefox on Windows 11, 10, and virtually any operating system that the browser supports.

Clear cache and cookies on Firefox

To clear cookies and cache data on Firefox, use these steps:

  1. Open Firefox on Windows 11.

  2. Click the main menu button in the top-right corner and click on Settings.

  3. Click on Privacy & Security.

  4. Under the “History” section, click the Clear history button to access Firefox cache data.

  7. Clear any data to keep in the browser. For instance, “Browsing & Download History,” “Active Logins,” “Form & Search History,” “Site Settings,” and “Offline Website Data.”

  8. Click the OK button to clear the cache on Firefox.

Once you complete the steps, the cache and cookies data will be cleared from Firefox, and websites will load correctly, but you’ll notice that they will take longer to load than usual. This is expected, and it’s because Mozilla Firefox has to re-cache the data again. As a result of clearing up cookies, you may also need to sign in again to some of your online services.
