Surface Laptop Go 2 specs and details leaked online

Microsoft is expected to launch the Surface Laptop Go 2 on June 2 with a newer Intel CPU, improved camera, and higher storage capacity.

  • Surface Laptop Go 2 details leaked before announcements.
  • The new laptop will feature an 11th-Gen Intel CPU and Windows 11.
  • Other specs are expected to be the same as the original version.
  • The laptop is expected to be ready for preorder on June 2.

It’d appear that Microsoft plans to announce a refreshed version of the Surface Laptop Go. This is according to reports and early retailer listings. (The link is no longer available.)

According to a new report from The Verge, the new model of the laptop has the same design as the older model, with the difference that the 2022 refresh features a more recent Core i51135G7 11th Generation Intel processor and Windows 11. The retail listing also suggests that the camera will have “improved HD camera performance” and rated battery to up 13.5 hours.

In addition, you will be able to get this laptop with up to 8GB of memory and 256GB of internal storage. The report also suggests that Microsoft may plan to increase the base model specs to 128GB of storage instead of 64GB available in the first generation.

Since the Surface Laptop Go 2 is pretty much the same as the older model, you will find a 12.4-inch display with a 3:2 aspect ratio, USB-A, USB-C, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a port for Microsoft’s proprietary charger. A backlit keyboard won’t be a part of the features, and the fingerprint reader will be available through the power button on some models.

The Surface Laptop Go 2 is the entry-level laptop that Microsoft offers to consumers, and it’s the device that the company has released to compete with Chromebooks.

The listing says that preorders will start on June 2, 2022, with a starting price of $650, but the company has yet to make the official announcement.
