Microsoft is reportedly planning to virtualize the Windows 10 desktop experience on its Azure cloud and offer it as a service known as “Cloud PC.”
According to a new report from ZDNet, Microsoft is creating a virtualization service for organizations who want to use their own devices as a thin clients with Windows 10, Office, and possibly other software delivered from the Azure cloud.
The report also says that a job posting reveals that the company is expected to make Cloud PC available through Microsoft 365, and the virtual machines will be managed by Microsoft and offered for a flat per user price.
It’s yet unclear when Microsoft is planning to introduce the new Cloud PC service, but it could happen as early as spring 2021.
