  • To clear the cache on Microsoft Edge, open “edge://settings/privacy,” click “Choose what to clear,” select the “Cached images and files” and “Cookies and other site data” options and any other browsing data to delete, and click “Clear now” to clear the browser cache.

On Windows 11 or 10, you can clear the cache, cookies, and other information (such as passwords, history, etc.) from Microsoft Edge, and in this guide, you will learn how. Microsoft Edge downloads and stores data from websites, such as files and images that are also referred to as “cache” data, cookies (small files containing data for a specific site), and other information to load pages faster the next time you visit them.

The only problem is that caching data and cookies over time can cause issues that may prevent websites from loading correctly on Microsoft Edge. For instance, when you open a website, it may look broken, but it’s not a problem with the site. Instead, it’s the browser trying to load the site using cached data. However, you can quickly clear the cache and other data to fix this and other problems.

In this guide, you will learn the steps to clear the cache and cookies on Microsoft Edge.

To delete the Microsoft Edge cache and cookies, use these steps:

  1. Open Microsoft Edge on Windows 11.

  2. Click the Settings and More (ellipsis) button in the top-right corner and select the Settings option.

  3. Click on Privacy, search, and services.

  4. Under the “Clear browsing data” section, click the “Choose what to clear” button to delete the cache.

    Choose what to clear

  5. Use the “Time range” drop-down menu to select the “All time” option (recommended).

  6. Check the “Cached images and files” option to clear the Microsoft Edge cache.

  7. Check the “Cookies and other site data” option to clear the Microsoft Edge cookies.

  8. (Optional) Check any other cache data to remove from Microsoft Edge, including “Browsing history,” “Download history,” “Autofill from data,” “Site permissions,” and “Media Foundation data.”

Quick note: If you check all the available options, you will be clearing all your Microsoft Edge cache data.
  9. Click the Clear now button.

Once you complete the steps, the cache data will remove from the browser, and the images and files will download again the next time you load the website. After clearing the cache information, websites will take longer to load because the browser will have to re-cache the data. If you also selected the option to clear the cookies, you will need to sign in again on the different services.
