  • Microsoft rolls out a preview of a new Home interface for Xbox.
  • The new design makes elements smaller and pushes them down to show more background.
  • Also, the redesigned dashboard includes a new access menu and makes the experience easier to navigate.

Microsoft is now rolling out a preview of the revamped “Home” dashboard experience for Xbox Series X, S, and One in the Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha channels. According to the official announcement, the new design balances experience, accessibility, function, and the community’s needs.

The company decided to change the design after listening to feedback from the community that the “Home felt crowded and didn’t leave enough space for you to enjoy your background,” and the result is a new dashboard that tackles three things, including a better showcase of the background images, streamlines the layout, and provides easier navigation.

According to the company, the new Xbox dashboard offers easy navigation to your library, the Microsoft Store, Xbox Game Pass, search, and settings at the top of the screen with the new quick access menu.

It also simplifies the layout and makes more space for your background by reducing the size of some of the tiles and moving them to the bottom of the screen, similar to video streaming apps like Netflix.

Additionally, a responsive game art feature has been added to update the default background and display the beautiful art associated with each title when you hover over the tiles.

Finally, the company has also updated the “My games & apps” title to show whenever something is new or needs your attention.

Microsoft says the new Home is still a work in progress, and you may see some additional changes until the official rollout of the redesigned experience.

If you want to enroll your Xbox Series X, S, or One in the Insider program, you will need to open the “Xbox Insider Hub” app, choose the “Xbox Update Preview,” select the “Join” option, choose the level of preview you want to receive, and on “Save” button.
