Microsoft plans to hold a new Surface event in New York City on September 21, 2023. The company has already begun sending invites to press members, and this time, Microsoft is expected to unveil new hardware designs as well as more details on Windows 11 23H2, AI, Bing, and Microsoft 365. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Windows chief Panos Panay will be presenting the event.
Although the company isn’t sharing any details, the rumor has it that consumers will finally see a new Surface Go 4, Surface Laptop Go 3, and Surface Laptop 2.
According to a recent report for Windows Central, the new Surface Laptop Studio 2 will feature the latest processors from Intel, more powerful graphics, and a better selection of ports. In the case of the Surface Go 4, the company is expected to ship the device with an Intel processor rather than one from ARM. Finally, the Surface Go 3 will also sport Intel processors but from the 12th Gen series.
The New York City event is also expected to include more details on the next feature update of Windows 11 (version 23H2). Microsoft previously revealed that it is planning to begin the rollout at some point during the fourth quarter of 2023, and during the event, we may hear the exact release date, official name, and more information about the new features and changes. Some of these include the new Windows Copilot AI integration, Dynamic Lighting to control lighting accessories, support for RAR and 7Zip files through File Explorer, new visual changes for the Taskbar, and more.
It’s important to note that this event will likely not include a live stream over the internet.
