Surface Laptop 4, Pro 4, Book 3, Studio picked up May 2021 update

Surface devices are now getting firmware updates to fix security vulnerabilities and improve the overall experience, and here's all you need to know.

  • Microsoft makes available firmware updates for several of its Surface devices.
  • Updates are available for Surface Laptop 4, 3, 2, 1, Go, Surface Pro 4, Surface Book 3 and Book, and Surface Studio.
  • The firmware fixes vulnerabilities and improves the overall experience.

Microsoft is rolling out new firmware updates for some of its Surface devices, including Laptop 4, Laptop 3, Laptop 2, the original Surface Laptop, and Laptop Go. In addition, the company is also pushing updates for Surface Pro 4, Surface Book 3 and the original Book, and Surface Studio.

These updates are available for devices running Windows 10 version 1909 and higher releases, and they are meant to fix security vulnerabilities and improve stability and reliability.

According to the Microsoft support logs, these firmware updates became available on May 6, 2021, and they include these changes.

Surface Laptop 4

The update should download and install automatically, but you go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and try to force the download manually if you have not received it.
