  • Windows 11 build 23585 is now available in the Dev Channel.
  • This update adds the uninstall option to more apps and improves File Explorer.

Build 23585 for Windows 11 has now been released for participants of the Windows Insider Program in the Dev Channel. In this update, the development team is only noting some fixes and improvements and no new features.

According to the official changes, Windows 11 build 23585 adds the uninstall option for more apps, including Camera, Cortana, Photos, People, and Remote Desktop (MSTSC) client apps.

Microsoft notes fixes for problems causing the explorer.exe process to crash and the context menu rendering off the screen when invoked using touch or pen. Also, it addresses an issue causing the Chat button to re-appear in the Taskbar.

Finally, in this update, the operating system still has the problem where you need to use the “Show grid” commands to use the prompt box in Copilot.

It’s worth noting that Microsoft is still gradually rolling out Copilot, and it’s currently only available as a preview in North America, the United Kingdom, and parts of Asia and South America. However, in the future, AI chatbots will expand to more markets. Microsoft is even planning to bring Copilot to Windows 10. In the meantime, try these instructions and solutions to enable Copilot on your device.
