Windows 11 gets a new update in the Beta Channel bringing enhancements and changes, and here's all you need to know.

  • Windows 11 23H2 receives builds 22635.2419 (KB5031463) in the Beta Channel.

Windows 11 build 22635.2419 (KB5029339) is rolling out in the Beta Channel of the Windows Insider Program with new features and improvements. According to the company, this update is available as an enablement package and will no longer split the channel into two different branches. Instead, Microsoft will enable the new features using its Control Feature Rollout (CFR) technology. 

As part of build 22635.2419 for Windows 11, the development team has started rolling out (again) the new Windows Ink experience that allows you to use a digital pen to write on any text field. The new feature is currently available in the English (United States) language. You can always turn it on from Bluetooth and devices > Pen & Windows Ink under “Shell Handwriting.” 

In addition, this flight also includes the new icon for Copilot in the Taskbar. 

Furthermore, you will notice that the page to purchase a new Windows license has been updated in the Microsoft Store to align with the design style of Windows 11.

This rollout also brings a bunch of fixes and improvements with build 22635.2419:

  • Fixed an issue where explorer.exe was crashing for Insiders in the previous flight when you tried to open File Explorer by using Open File Location in an app.
  • Fixed an issue that causes delays when you sign in. This occurs when a tablet pen is connected to your device.
  • Fixed an issue that affects iCloud Calendar and Contacts. Outlooks fails to properly sync them when you use the iCloud for Windows app.

Install build 22635.2419

To download and install the Windows 11 build 22635.2419, enroll your device in the Beta Channel using the “Windows Insider Program” settings from the “Update & Security” section.

Once you enroll the computer in the program, you can download build 22635.2419 from the “Windows Update” settings by turning on the “Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available” toggle switch and clicking the “Check for Updates” button. However, you will need a device that meets the minimum system requirements to receive the update if you are new to the Windows Insider Program.
