Microsoft is now making available Windows 10 build 17692.1004 for testers with devices enrolled in the Slow ring of the Windows Insider Program. This release marks the first Windows 10 Redstone 5 preview that Insiders are getting in the Slow ring since the company rolled out the April 2018 Update during the last days of April.
This particular build includes all the new features and changes that became available with build 17692 in the Fast ring. However, you’ll notice that the build number is slightly higher, and it’s because the company has been preparing this Redstone 5 preview to pass the quality level required to be available in the Slow ring.
If you’re enrolled in the Slow ring, you can check all the improvements in this guide, and you can also check out this video review.
Here are the additional fixes included on Windows 10 build 17692 for the Slow ring.
- Fixed problem where the login screen would crash in a loop when the active sign-in method is set to Picture Password.
- Addressed an issue where DRM video playback in Microsoft Edge from websites such as Netflix was broken.
- Fixed problem where Keyboard Settings found under Ease of Access were missing text as well as visible values in the two combo boxes.
- Improved reliability and performance for launching Start.
