The first test preview for the Redstone 5 development releases to Insiders in the Skip Ahead lane. Although the Redstone 4 development still ongoing, Microsoft has already started working on the next version of Windows 10 (version 1809), which is expected to rollout in fall 2018.
The initial preview of the Redstone 5 development is Windows 10 build 1604, but this particular release doesn’t include anything interesting as the company is currently preparing the code to start introducing new features in the near future. All the changes found in build 17604 are the same as those found inside build 17101.
If you want to get an early start on the Windows 10 Redstone 5 update, Microsoft has re-open the Skip Ahead option that anyone can use to opt-in. However, it’s really important to note that code found in these early builds are rough, meaning that you’ll come across problems and errors.
Of course, you can always opt-out of the program, but you’ll need to reinstall Windows 10 on your computer.
