Microsoft has been teasing about a new Sticky Notes app for a few weeks, and now the company is making available version 3.0 as a preview for devices enrolled in the Skip Ahead option of the Windows Insider Program.
Sticky Notes has been around since Windows Vista, and even though, it has received a number of improvements in Windows 10, it’s been pretty much the same app. In version 3.0, Sticky Notes is getting redesigned, and perhaps the most noticeable addition, which is the ability to sync your notes across your devices.
Syncing will expand to Android and iOS devices, but this feature will come in a later update.
Once you set up Sticky Notes with your Microsoft Account, everything will look similar to the previous version with the difference of a new organizer with a search functionality to find all your notes.
Also, your notes will now sync across devices, and they will stay backed up in your Microsoft account.
Microsoft is even adding a new dark themed note called “Charcoal Note.”
Sticky Notes 3.0 also includes a new formatting bar to change colors, open the Sticky Notes home, and delete the note.
Other improvements in this release includes tweaks to the interface so now is more polish and performs faster. The app now supports assistive technologies and Narrator. You can navigate using the keyboard keys, mouse, touch, and pen, and it includes support for high contrast.
If you want to give the Sticky Notes a try, you can download the update from the Microsoft Store, but you must be running the latest Windows 10 19H1 preview available in the Fast ring with Skip Ahead option.
