Windows 10 build 19645 releases in the Fast ring

Windows 10 preview brings Nested Virtualization and makes available Linux kernel for WSL 2 through Windows Update.

Microsoft is now rolling out Windows 10 build 19645 for devices enrolled in the Fast ring of the Windows Insider Program. This is the preview number 24 available for testers, and it’s a minor release with only a few improvements.

Windows 10 build 19645, according to the software giant, introduces support for Nested Virtualization for AMD processors, which is the ability to run virtual machines within another virtual machine.

In addition, starting with this flight, Microsoft is removing its custom Linux kernel, part of the Windows Subsystem for Linux 2, from the Windows 10 image, and instead it’ll make it available through Windows Update.

Finally, the company is also noting several fixes. For example, build 19645 fixes Blue Screen of Death with eMMC storage, fixes problems with taskbar preview thumbnails not rendering correctly, addresses problem with Windows Hello setup, and more.

The preview is available immediately through the Fast ring. This preview build will download and install automatically on your computer, but you can always force the update from Settings Update & security > Windows Update, and clicking the Check for updates button.
