  • Windows 11 23H2 receives build 22635.2483 (KB5031451) in the Beta Channel.
  • The update brings data collection consent prompts for users in the EU.
  • It also temporarily disables recent Emoji updates.

Windows 11 build 22635.2483 (KB5031451) is rolling out in the Beta Channel of the Windows Insider Program with minor improvements for version 23H2 only after a few days of releasing another preview in the same channel.

According to the announcement, this rollout focuses on improving the collection of data from the European Union to comply with the European Economic Area (EEA) rules. In this case, the operating system will now request consent to share data between Windows 11 and other signed-in Microsoft services. In other words, starting with build 22635.2483, Windows 11 will now prompt you to consent for data collection on some features, but in the future, you will notice more requests.

If you don’t consent to the data collection, you won’t be able to use the feature. As an example, Microsoft notes that you won’t be able to see certain types of file recommendations under “Recommended” on the Start menu.

In addition, this flight also temporarily disables the availability of the color font format to COLRv1, which displays richer emoji with 3D effects. The feature will appear again after the company fixes the existing bugs.

Windows 11 build 22635.2483 fixes

This rollout also brings a bunch of fixes and improvements for build 22635.2483:

  • Fixed an issue which was causing search to crash on launch for some Insiders in the previous flight.

As a reminder, Microsoft is no longer splitting the Beta Channel into two different builds, and moving forward, participants of the Windows Insider Program will receive the same 22635 build through an enablement package. Also, it is important to note that the company will gradually roll out features through its Control Feature Rollout (CFR) technology, meaning that not everyone will receive all the announced features for a particular build immediately.

Install build 22635.2483

To download and install the Windows 11 build 22635.2483, enroll your device in the Beta Channel using the “Windows Insider Program” settings from the “Update & Security” section.

Once you enroll the computer in the program, you can download build 22635.2483 from the “Windows Update” settings by turning on the “Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available” toggle switch and clicking the “Check for Updates” button. However, you will need a device that meets the minimum system requirements to receive the update if you are new to the Windows Insider Program.
